Trunk Lock
Decatur, Georgia
1995
Before we left San Francisco for Georgia, I decided to beef up the locks
on the car so our stuff (everything we owned) wouldn't get stolen during
our cross-country drive. Here we see the trunk lid, with its hasp-and-padlock
arrangement ensuring that the usual 2-seconds-with-a-crowbar treatment
won't get the trunk open. I got a bunch of tie-downs at the junkyard,
so I installed them all over the rear of the car. They turned out
to be very useful for moving large items of furniture.
