Taking the Junkyard 400 Apart

Why should I try to lift a fully-assembled short-block out of my trunk when that trunk is big enough to take the thing apart in?  Here's the scene as I stripped all the good stuff out of the 1975 Chevy station wagon's tired 2-bolt-main engine.
