Gutted Interior

Let's face it.  You don't need luxuries like carpeting, door panels, a rear seat, glovebox lid, ashtrays, headliner, insulation, rear window mechanisms, interior trim, or vents.  These things add up to hundreds of unnecessary pounds.  Plus, you get more room to keep extra tires and parts in the car.  Removing the remaining A/C and heater parts probably chopped 200 pounds out of the car- and that's just for starters...
