hey murilee, been following your stuff for years. you’re sort of a hero of mine because you actually follow thru on the kind of crazy schemes that i start and rarely finish. not into disassembling cars because i live in a highrise in nyc. i do some ebaying of computer/photo/video parts from my video production biz. my tips/system: when i get a good box, i look around the studio for something that fits it and i shoot the item with and old camera i have just for ebaying and put it in the box. never bother with an item worth less than $20. also, no foreign sales. too much paperwork. i then use buy it now and use the template from the previous sales. then, i forget about the whole thing and throw it on shelf in the back. some months later i get an email telling me the item has sold and i go to the post office and ship it. not as efficient as your setup but a lot less time consuming. cheers!
