Spray-painting a stenciled image on the car of a team whose members give generously to the 24 Hours of LeMons Supreme Court has been a tradition since the first South Carolina LeMons race in 2008. The 2015 season saw the largest number of BRIBED stencils yet, with five artists cutting 27 unique custom stencils.

We like to encourage miscreants trapped in the Kafkaesque labyrinth of the 24 Hours of LeMons Supreme Court to create great works of art as they serve their time. In other words, cardboard-and-duct-tape engine sculptures!

The first time we saw this California 24 Hours of LeMons team, they’d decorated their Sentra SE-R like a giant chicken and named their team the Mother Cluckers, in honor of the 2008 Mother’s Day race at Altamont. That was cool, but the Cluckers didn’t really stand out from the crowd. Then: inspiration!
