1976 Toyota Land Cruiser Down On The Denver StreetWelcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the City That Rust Sorta Ignored: Denver, Colorado. Yes, I shot the FJ40— that’s it in the background— but today we’re going to admire its equally cool younger brother. I’ve never seen one of these things in California, but apparently quite a few were sold in Colorado; the owner of this one says they’re not uncommon around here.

I’ve never before seen a rear view mirror quite like that. Was that how they all were on these?

All of the ugly as fuck details (eyes too close together, awful signals and monstrous bumpers) come together beautifully.

I never actually knew that these were sold in America, but then I live in New Hampshire, where even FJ40s and FJ60s are quite rare.
