24 Hours of LeMons fanatics have been hoping for a vintage NASCAR-style entry for years, and Legend of LeMons Unununium Medal winner Speedycop and his henchmen came through at the Southern Discomfort race last month.  

The LeMons Forum readers discovered it first, then the story got picked up by my erstwhile colleagues at Jalopnik. 24 bids and $4,494 later, the eight-wheeled, twin-Wankeled sports car is LeMons-bound!

This time, according to LeMons wild man Speedycop, things would be different. The Lancia Scorpion on Toyota MR2 chassis would be ready before it showed up at the race. Of course, we knew better.

Even though a LeMons team that swaps an MR2 chassis under a Lancia Scorpion doesn’t need a theme, I think the members of Team Police Brutality ought to go with their foaming-at-mouth lunacy and wear straitjackets to the Rod Blagojevich Never-Say-Die 500 24 Hours of LeMons.
