This time, according to LeMons wild man Speedycop, things would be different. The Lancia Scorpion on Toyota MR2 chassis would be ready before it showed up at the race. Of course, we knew better.
After driving 1,100 miles from Maryland to Illinois, the car still needs a few things. All the big stuff is done, supposedly, but many small projects remain. Wiring, suspension, chassis bracing, you know, minor stuff.
We’ve seen Speedycop and his fellow Police Brutality lunatics do this routine enough times to be sure that the car will make it onto the race track. They’re pulling their usual Friday all-nighter at the moment, so the question is: will they be ready when the green flag waves tomorrow, or will we need to wait until later in the day?

Mark my words – at some point, Speedycop will buy his racecar on the way to the track.

I really love the last few shots. With the moribund speedycop back lit by the moonrise. So apropoetic.
I coined a new word!
