Starting in 2012, the judges of the Lemons Supreme Court began making a unique stencil for each race, applied to the cars of teams showing the proper obeisance to race officials via generous gifts (before that, we’d use the same stencils until they got lost or wore out). Here are the stencils of the 2017 […]

Chief Perp Lamm and Assistant Perp Pon at LeMons HQ have been producing race-wrapup videos for every race starting in 2012, but it’s sort of a pain to search for each one on YouTube. Here they are, all together.

One of the benefits of being a Justice of the 24 Hours of LeMons Supreme Court is the very generous gifts given to the Court by racers who hope to keep it fair (a wise move, considering that the LeMons Supreme Court considers the Moscow Show Trials and Wild West Justice to be its legal […]

I’ve been gathering 24 Hours of LeMons team T-shirts since 2007, and I’ve finally photographed the entire collection. The complete gallery, with all 380 shirt designs, may be viewed here. The Car and Driver version, with smaller gallery but more description, may be seen here.

I’ve been covering the 24 Hours of LeMons as a journalist since 2007, and I started doing a BS Inspection roundup post for each race in early 2009. The BS Inspection, which takes place on Friday (unless it’s a 24-straight-hours race, in which case it takes place on Saturday), is where you see all the […]

“Well, I’m Not a Crook!”

October 19th, 2012

For the American Irony 24 Hours of LeMons last weekend, Team Resignation finally paid heed to my requests that they convert the Richard Nixon likeness on the roof of their Ford Escort into an animatronic Nixon Robot (as depicted in my novel). The mechanism was a bit crude, but it gave their Nixon a certain […]

The LeMons Supreme Court has been through many versions of the BRIBED stencil (applied to the cars of teams that grease the wheels of justice with a gift for the LCS) during the last five LeMons seasons. Lately, we’ve been trying to make each stencil more of a commemorative-edition souvenir for each event. Collect them […]

I’ve been writing about the 24 Hours of LeMons for more than four years now, for more publications than I can recall right now. The latest victim: Car and Driver, which is now inexplicably sponsoring the 24 Hours of LeMons. So, when you’re done reading my tirades on TTAC, Motor Authority, Autoweek and elsewhere, head […]

If you liked the Junkyard Finds desktop wallpaper collection, you’ll love the Rod-Throw-O-Rama Desktop Wallpaper collection, featuring images of nuked 24 Hours of LeMons engines in all the most common screen resolutions. Enjoy.

It was quite a race, and its photographic Über Gallery has more than 2000 photographs for your enjoyment.

We of LeMons HQ have started (or, rather, resumed the tradition of) issuing a region-specific trophy for each race, which means in practice that we bring a trophy with a blank nameplate and realize that we haven’t thought of what we’re going to call it until about 19 minutes before the checkered flag on Sunday. […]

With 171 entries, the weekend’s LeMons racing activities at Infineon Raceway were a lot of fun. It always takes me a couple of days to process my photos into an Über Gallery entry, but that task is now done. 1,912 photographs of the action!

You’ve seen the Showroom-Schlock Shootout Über Gallery and the official results, but those things don’t always tell the entire story. As Official Historian of the 24 Hours of LeMons, I’m here to fill on the blanks on what happened at the Autobahn Country Club Joliet last weekend.

All this post needs to complement the 1997-style animated GIF is some blinking text!

More than 1,000 photos from the action at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
